It comes from the Andes region (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador) and was used by Indigenous cultures, especially the Inca.

The Chakana represents the connection between the underworld, earthly world, and upper world — or body, mind, and spirit. It’s also a symbol of balance, harmony, and the path to spiritual growth.
